A BodyWise Approach offers personalized somatic embodiment programs to support healing and connecting your body and mind. Through tuning in to the innate wisdom within our bodies, we can learn to move with more ease and less pain. This work is ideal for those who believe it is possible to live with less pain, stress, and tension than you're currently experiencing, and who need a little support learning how to get there.
By listening to the body to see what's limiting range of motion or causing pain, we custom design a therapeutic program of movement, breath, meditation, and stillness to help you build the support you need to meet whatever challenges you're facing - chronic pain, acute injury, stress, treatment programs, trauma recovery and release, performance improvement, and more. We begin by quieting the parts of the body that are overworked, overtired, over-stressed, and overly tense. Then we "wake up" the parts that have been "asleep" and train them to do the jobs they're built for. In this way we create a foundation of balance and ease in the body, and then build supple strength upon that foundation. |

So who is AveryDeane? And why can I trust them?
AveryDeane le'Swift is a Somatic Embodiment Coach, facilitator, speaker, and intuitive healer. AveryDeane carries a deep passion for the healing and therapeutic aspects of Yoga in both movement and philosophy. They're also a bit of a biomechanics nerd, and their work is informed by the ancient wisdom of Yoga as well as modern scientific research in the fields of biomechanics and kinesiology. Their approach is A BodyWise Approach, tuning in to the innate wisdom of each individual body to assist in moving out of pain and tension so you can live your best pain-free life.
While working a stressful career in business, AveryDeane sought out Yoga for strength and stress relief in 2006. They quickly realized the value of the practice and began sharing Yoga in group classes in 2010, then working one-on-one with clients in 2013. They are a student of the Great Mystery of Life along with several Yoga lineages, including Hatha, Ashtanga, and Yoga Therapy, as well as other spiritual traditions including Buddhism, Taoism, Tantra, Christianity, Sufism, and the physical/spiritual practice of 5Rhythms dance. A BodyWise Approach draws from each of these traditions with an intention to help you connect with the core of who you are, so that you can bring more authentic YOU into all that you do. |

Therapeutic Services (Ah, the Details....)
Sessions available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, either online or in my office in beautiful downtown Hood River OR. Home visits may be available locally for unique needs.
Initial Intake Visit (120 mins)
During our first visit, we will discuss and evaluate where you're at in your body, and begin to build a picture of what's here, now. We will also perform a series of muscle balance tests to determine what part(s) of your body need(s) attention first. Then we will have a treatment session.
Treatment Sessions (75-90 mins)
Each session will be unique and will build on prior sessions. We will evaluate what changes have occurred since our last visit, go over the results of your home program, and treat your body where it is in the moment. In these interactive sessions you are practicing and building biomechanically sound patterns of movement based on your body's needs, and creating a balance of suppleness and strength that will support you in meeting the challenges you're facing. These treatments are designed to train and empower you with the tools you need to heal yourself. You'll leave each visit with resources for continuing your learning until we meet again.
Restorative Healing Sessions
Imagine being completely supported in a way that allows your body to let go into deep blissful release. We will utilize restorative yoga postures, passive joint range of motion (meaning I move your body while you relax), meditation, Reiki, and sound to create a sense of deep ease, relaxation, and healing. These sessions are for when you need to simply receive, restore, and relax into bliss.
(Note: Distance sessions do not include passive joint range of motion)
Recommended courses of treatment will vary based on the needs and goals of each individual, and will be discussed at our consultation and initial visit. Sustainable change requires practice and repetition to build strength and endurance with new patterns.
Single sessions and packages available. Packages start at three months, and include an initial intake visit, weekly/bi-weekly sessions, a one-day mini retreat, between-session email support, a "toolkit" of props, energetic support, and access to additional resources to support your Journey.
Sliding scale and equity pricing available.
Longer sessions, including one-day immersions and personal 3-day retreats, available by request.
